Lagoon 45ft -2016, refit 2020

Chaos Interrupted

Yacht description

Chaos Interrupted is a 3-cabin Lagoon 450, a really popular design for chartering as it has lots of space for up to three couples, but is small enough to be affordable. The cabins are all queen size and have 6’6” headroom! Each has ensuite bathrooms with separate shower stalls.

The interior of the yacht is very modern and light. The salon flows seamlessly into the cockpit so plenty of space for all guests. The cockpit offers a lovely outdoor dining option with comfy seats for relaxing.

Forward is the very popular foredeck lounge area, which is the perfect place to relax in the evenings with a cocktail in your hand. There is also a flybridge which has a seating area as well as a sunbathing area forward of the steering position.

Penny's personal opinion

Why book Chaos Interrupted– JAKE – Jake the Boat Dog is Chaos Interrupted’s mascot and security detail. He is a rescued Labradane and one look into his soulful eyes will melt your heart. He loves to paddleboard, swim and chase balls and gives the best cuddles! If you’re not a dog lover then, with advance notice, Jake can go ashore and stay with one of his buddies.

First trip taken like this – and it was fantastic. Judy, Vince & Jake – top notch hosts & teachers. The boat was beautifully decorated. The rooms were bright and comfortable. The quiet mornings & hot coffee – gentle rains, daily rainbows, gorgeous sunsets – all made for a nice daily arc. The dinners were amazing and creative for a small kitchen space. In late 2020, we had gotten our scuba certifications started in a pool – Judy & Vince were very good teachers for our first actual open water refresher and subsequent two dives (and so patient). Watching Vince catch our lobster dinner and capture invasive lionfish, seeing turtles & octopus & even the two dolphins that greeted us on our first evening, island hikes, Vince’s painkillers – all unforgettable moments. Becoming comfortable in the water – life-changing. Thank you, Chaos Interrupted for one of our best trips.

THE BEST VACATION WE’VE EVER HAD! It was pure unexpected happiness and relaxation – nothing is a coincidence. It was the perfect mix of adventure, good time, fun and friends, and GREAT FOOD!!! The best way to say it – is that this is a trip we will recommend and REPEAT!

    An Unforgettable Trip!!

Our family of four spent an unforgettable Christmas week aboard Chaos Interrupted with Vince, Judy, and Jake (their dog) and it was by far one of the best trips our well-travelled family has ever taken. Although it was a rather last minute decision, it ended up being an amazing time and a phenomenal experience that we would do again in a heartbeat. Both Vince and Judy were so personable, easy to get along with, detail-oriented, helpful, and were always willing to cater to our family and our needs. Before we arrived, they created an itinerary based around our family’s interests and desires planning for hikes, runs in the morning, beach time, snorkeling, paddle boarding, movie or game nights, fishing, and so much more. An unexpected highlight of the trip was the AMAZING food we had aboard. Judy had planned out a Michelin star-worthy menu (no exaggeration) for our week including exciting foods like poke bowls, teriyaki salmon, and avocado toast with a twist. Numerous times, you’d hear us utter “We’re not worthy!” Judy went out of her way to ensure that our complicated dietary needs were met with alternative options and substitutions. Jake (the boat dog) was a joy to have aboard, he was a loving, gentle companion and truly made this trip even better. We can’t imagine another charter could ever live up to these guys!

ADVENTURE OF A LIFETIME! Vince, Judy and Jake the Boat Dog were the most gracious and wonderful hosts. From the moment we stepped onboard, we only had to “worry” about which activity we wanted to do in the moment. We snorkeled, scuba dove, swam, sailed, napped, hiked, paddle boarded, played games on the beach, danced, kayaked, read, drank fresh cocktails and ate wonderful food.

They are now like family and we can’t wait to return in April 2022. (Yes, we enjoyed ourselves so much that we booked our return trip before we left the boat!) I would encourage you to book soon, say yes to all the things and trust their recommendations for interrupting your chaos!

FUN! FUN! FUN!!!! That’s the best summary I could give you! Seriously – this was the best trip we have ever gone on. Judy and Captain Vince were a pleasure to hang out with for the week, and we are looking into another trip with them soon!!

They really did an amazing job with our week. It all started with the preparation process. They individualized the entire itinerary, along with the meals with dietary requirements and tastes, with the best that can be done (given restrictions on items that may not be available on the islands). We had a dedicated phone conversation, after completing some “homework” on which to base the discussion on – basically for them to get to know us, what we like, what we don’t like, and what we were looking to do on the trip. Then they put together a sample itinerary, which we could then make changes as we wished. We decided to do a half board, so they made us breakfast every morning, and a certain number of lunches and dinners as well. All the meals that were cooked were excellent, and the meals we had on land were also awesome (all at places which they recommended). She makes the BEST Key Lime Pie- Kudos Judy! They even were so thoughtful with our kids – for example, for our welcome drink on board (my wife loves Prosecco) – they found a bottle of non-alcoholic Rose so the kids could also toast with us. What a great start that was to an awesome trip.

As an example – we arrived Saturday afternoon, and it ended up raining all day Sunday so we couldn’t really do anything outdoors that day. The awesome thing about this charter is that it’s not like a cruise ship – things you want can be changed – whether it’s for unexpected weather, or you decide you want to sleep in one day that was supposed to be early – they are very accommodating and can make it happen. We were supposed to eat out that day, so they shifted gears and made our lunch on the boat instead. We traveled as a two adult, two teenager family for the week – and we visited St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix. We spent the week sailing, snorkeling, diving, fishing – but more important, just relaxing!! All four of us, though we don’t necessarily share the same recreational interests, all found something to do and loved it!

Judy and Captain Vince were very patient. I wanted to dive, and my wife wasn’t as keen but was willing to do it. Both Vince and Judy are PADI certified, and they were absolute saints with teaching us all. And I caught some pretty amazing close-up underwater pictures of ocean wildlife.

And a special shout out to boat dog Jake – he was awesome! My kids have been begging for a dog, and Jake certainly didn’t help my case in saying no… He is such a loving dog, and we enjoyed the “Jake lean”. (You will have to book a trip to see what it is!)

Even though we were guests, we felt like we gained three more friends. They are just good people. We had fun with our happy hours (after the boat was docked of course!) with two different types of Martinis, learned all about their journey to how they ended up running this charter- we even watched Pirates of the Caribbean on a projector! My wife had never seen it, so we decided to do that one day after dinner. We also celebrated Captain Vince’s birthday on the boat!!

Unless you’re allergic to a good time, it’s hard for me to imagine anyone having anything but an awesome trip with Chaos Interrupted. And I cannot tell you how appropriate and accurate that name is for how our trip went. I only wish that instead of sitting here writing this review, we were back there right now. You cannot go wrong on Chaos Interrupted- we are trying to book another trip with Judy and Captain Vince for next year!! I wholeheartedly recommend you interrupt the chaos with Captain Vince and Judy!!!

  • WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! My goodness, where do I even begin?! I must start by saying, a private chartered yacht vacation is not something I ever even knew existed until some great friends told us all about it! My husband and I just KNEW we had to try it. I’ve only ever taken one cruise in my life and didn’t really love it; so, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I can now honestly say whether you love or hate cruises does not matter! A private charter is a completely different experience! Be prepared to never want to cruise (on a giant vessel with thousands of strangers) ever again!

We flew into St. Thomas out of Atlanta and just as soon as we grabbed our luggage off the carousel, our driver scooped us off and we headed for the short (10 minute) drive to the marina where Capt. Vince and Judy greeted us with the biggest welcomes! Once on board Chaos Interrupted we were given time to get settled into our rooms. I was so afraid that I would feel claustrophobic (I’m tall enough that I should’ve played basketball) but couldn’t believe how spacious the rooms are! The bed is about hip-height (which allows for bag storage underneath) but you can still sit up while sitting on the bed! Each room has their own bathrooms, small closet and a couple of drawers/storage spots, too! Once we were all settled, our group all met on the fly-bridge for “yappy-hour” and the official relaxing began!

Over the course of the next 7 days we cruised around St. Thomas and St. John staying in a different bay each night. Each bay had its own special character that you’ll never forget. We ate Pizza Pi VI off a that has been converted into a pizzeria (what!?!!)- this was after a day of diving, snorkeling, turtle spotting, and having fun identifying all the sea life. We made the quick float from boat to shore another day just for the cutest little beach bar that serves a famous island favorite – The Painkiller (Capt. Vince makes a pretty mean Pain Killer, too!)! Another day we all enjoyed the swim-up bar at Lime-Out (the Ceviche Taco is the perfect afternoon treat on a hot day!!!). Oh, and I can’t forget my favorite experience – the hour we spent swimming with and observing two massive (4 ft.!) Loggerhead Sea Turtles in just 15 ft of water in Maho Bay!!! You just never get to see them so comfortably in their own environment like that in the states or Keys!!!

I have to mention the perfect mix of boat, water, and land activities is all planned out for you by Judy! On land we hiked (more like a flat walk along the most gorgeous shoreline) to an old sugar plantation, drove past wild donkeys on fun bus ride up to the Windmill Bar which has the world’s best sunset and shopped in the cutest little villas and even danced in the streets to local nightlife music! SO MUCH FUN!!!

What I really love is how these two work together as a team! The planning was all done by Judy – she reaches out before the trip to ensure you’ll love her menu, that they have your favorite drinks on board and they try their hardest to fulfill all of your snacking requests (island grocery shopping is NOT like the USA). This is truly the trip of a lifetime and something you, your loved ones, and your friends will never forget and be talking about for the rest of your lives!!! You’ll want to book your next trip before you even finish the first one!

    – You truly will spend most of your time in your bathing suit and a coverup! I came home with too many outfits that were never touched. Wet clothes can also be hung to dry off the side of the boat day and night, so you really don’t need much!

    – The deck towels on board are Turkish-towels which double as a coverup! Regular towels are provided in the bathrooms – don’t pack any!

    – Pack a GoPro if you have one!!!

    – Enjoy game-night around the table in the evenings before bed! Vince and Judy have a selection of fun games aboard!

    – Try new things!!!

    – Jake the Boat Dog will be your best friend if you bring him a rawhide 😛

    – For me (I have an old foot injury), sneakers were the best option for the Annabel Plantation walk/hike but my hubs wore flip flops. If you think you may want sneakers, pack ONE pair. We never used our water shoes though.

    – AT&T cell service was great – if you need to check in at home and we did not incur any roaming or international charges (USVI).

FUN TIMES! We had an absolute blast sailing with Chaos Interrupted! There were six of us, plus the crew (which includes Jake the Boat Dog!), and the space was comfortable for that number of people. Vince and Judy took us to some amazing places and customized our adventurous vacation according to our preferences. I recommend Chaos Interrupted to experience a different type of getaway with friends or family!

  • Braden & Courtney

TRIP OF A LIFETIME. This was an amazing week aboard Chaos Interrupted with my husband and 4 of our dear friends! Our week together was full of many once-in-a-lifetime experiences! We especially enjoyed venturing out to enjoy local spots and flavors, Chef Judy’s crab cakes, and breakfast tacos! Snorkeling each day at your leisure with various turtles, stingrays, monster lobster, tarpon, barracuda, conch and other beautiful sea life! The water is crystal clear and the views as we traveled the islands are unmatched! There isn’t a sunrise or sunset you will want to miss! I highly recommend for the adventurous to hop on the Subwing and feel like a “Real Life Mermaid”! The bar is always open and it’s 5 o’clock somewhere! Don’t miss Capt. Vince’s Painkillers and the various snacks to munch on throughout the day! Jake “The Boat Dog”, is very well behaved, relaxed, and a sweet addition to the boat! He makes the experience feel like home! The beds are comfy, the linens clean and all of your shower products are on the boat! Turkish towels, sunscreen, snorkels and masks provided. That’s less to bring! Visit Lime Out, the floating taco bar, visit Charles at the Annaberg ruins! There is so much to share and it’s important you experience it! All in all, this is the vacation of a lifetime and we can’t wait to come back!

NO SHOES, NO SHIRT, AND NO BETTER VACATION THAN THIS! Imagine waking up in your room, you walk 10 steps, and there’s friends, food, drinks, and the water. Nobody has to deal with the typical “wait for everyone to get ready, pile in the car, put your name on the waiting list, wait for forever to eat, then go back to the room, haul everything to wherever you go next, and repeat that 5 days in a row” routine. With our trip, we started each day at a new location in the US Virgin Islands. Each day was different. But each day started off with 10 steps from our cabin to our vacation.

Chaos Interrupted is based out of St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. Vince and Judy handled our transportation from the airport to the docks to their boat, which we then received a drink and a short (but handy) safety briefing. We asked a few questions and our vacation began. This trip was tailored to our group, to the things we enjoyed doing, things we hoped for, wanted to try, wanted to see, etc. Vince and Judy made sure we had everything.

For 7 days, we motored and sailed around St. Thomas and St. John, USVI. We visited several coves, both popular and secluded. We ate amazing food. We visited with our friends. We drank. A lot. We snorkeled. We shopped. We laughed. We cried. We relaxed. We did it all. It was All-inclusive. We didn’t have to fool with the constant hustle and bustle of popular vacation spots. Not that I’m saying popular vacation spots aren’t great. We just didn’t have to deal with the ‘people on vacation’ traffic. We woke up each day with a plan, beautiful weather, great people, great food, and good drinks!

I could not have imagined a better vacation, one that allowed our group to get away from anything we considered “chaos” and just relax and enjoy the ride, literally. The views, the marine life, the relaxation, and the “no rush” atmosphere was everything we wanted, and everything we needed. We will definitely be back, not just for the trip, but also to see our friends.

  • INTERRUPT THE CHAOS!!! We had an incredible week on board Chaos Interrupted! I had no doubt the trip would be great but adding Captain Vince, Chef Judy and Jake to our group made it a trip for the books! The scenery was gorgeous, boat spacious, and food beyond expectation. A day didn’t go by without me asking Chef Judy for another recipe. Jake the boat dog became a best friend to all on board! We are already planning our next trip back…the week went entirely too fast! Captain Vince and Chef Judy were wonderful and a dream to work with.

  • Dirk

INCREDIBLE VOYAGE. Incredible trip with incredible people and boat…and dog! We were a little worried initially about how they would fit in with our group and spending 7 days with people we had never met before. However, Judy and Vince were so gracious and accommodating, reading cues from our group as to what we were interested in, what foods we like, what time we preferred doing things, and when to let us just relax. In the end we enjoyed them so much that they essentially became a part of our group and we loved every minute of it. One of our best trips ever… we will be back!

  • DJ

CAME BACK FOR MORE WITH THIS AWESOME CREW! This was my second trip within a year sailing USVI with Captain Vince and Chef Judy and if possible, it was even better than the first! The crew is able to strike a balance of active and relaxing allowing you to experience many different types of activities. We dived, snorkeled, hiked and had plenty of time to relax, read and enjoy painkillers. Judy’s food is spectacular, especially the key lime pie! We even had the pleasure of enjoying an impromptu lobster ceviche after Vince snared a lobster on a dive. The cabins are clean and well-appointed and the bed is surprisingly comfy! Make sure to visit Lime Out, the floating taco bar and Windmill Bar. I loved having Jake the Boat Dog on board. He gives great snuggles! Will definitely be back sailing with Vince and Judy soon!

  • Landon & Stacey

Definitely Interrupted our Chaos!! This was the most memorable and amazing trip ever! Our expectations were set high for this trip and Vince and Judy exceeded them. The accommodations and food were outstanding, and the itinerary that was put together for our group was spot on. We had the right amount of sightseeing, fun & games, relaxation and adventure. We truly enjoyed Vince, Judy & Jake (the Boat Dog)’s professionalism and friendship and can’t wait to do this again!

  • Charles and Katie

Just returned from the trip of a lifetime! I feel like we had several vacations worth of activities packed into one week without feeling rushed. You cannot beat waking up to the sunrise moored up in a lagoon with crystal clear water! Vince and Judy were extremely organized and professional, but also welcoming and personable. If it gets any better than this… I don’t know how!

  • David & Holly

BEST VACATION EVER! We were a little nervous about staying on a boat for a week, however it was awesome! The food was GREAT and the views/water were awesome. We snorkeled with Sea Turtles, pufferfish, spotted rays, and more. From snorkeling, to paddle boarding, to hiking to tide pools, it was a trip we will never forget. Judy, Vince, and Jake the Boat Dog paid attention to our wants and needs at all times. We are already trying to schedule our next charter to the Virgin Islands!

  • Kat and Daley

Best vacation, ever! So grateful for your care, planning, expertise, flexibility, and generosity. The food aboard was spectacular, the views were magical, and the activities and sailing spots were perfect. Turtles, dolphins, pufferfish, and more – what sights while sailing, diving, paddle boarding, kayaking, and of course, floating on the flamingo! You made this birthday and celebration so wonderful. This trip was easy, breezy, comfortable, on a beautiful boat, with plenty of lounging space, and so many options to enjoy the islands. We also appreciated your attention to different preferences and catering the trip to us in advance and on the fly! We will be back!

  • Ryan, Ashley, Jackson (14) & Jacob (8)

TRIP OF A LIFETIME! READY TO GO AGAIN!! Favorite part… absolutely all of it! Vince and Judy welcome you to their floating home and make you feel like family immediately! Incredibly helpful and fun with our boys (ages 8 &14) and went above and beyond to make this a trip of a lifetime. Food aboard is outstanding and highly recommend the floating taco bar at Lime Out. They can easily be as active or relaxing as you want and just make it a spectacular trip!! And of course, you can’t forget the best skipper around in Jake The Boat Dog!!

  • Mike & Sharon

FABULOUS TRIP! What a wonderful trip! Everything was perfect. We enjoyed snorkeling, paddle boarding, relaxing on the water mat and the catamaran, beach time and fabulous food. Judy is a great chef and was able to plan and prepare meals that worked for all of us. Vince made great cocktails. My grandsons enjoyed experiencing new water sports and Vince and Judy were very patient and great teachers. The boat was very clean and comfortable. The turquoise water was amazing. I would recommend this trip to anyone!

  • Shannon and Kim

WOW!! THE BEST VACATION THAT WE’VE EVER HAD!! We enjoyed celebrating our honeymoon (that got canceled a year ago), anniversary, and my wife Kim’s birthday with Vince, Judy, and Jake. This owner/operator team knocked it out of the park on all levels EXCEEDING our expectations every minute of the trip, so much that we booked our next trip with them into the second day of our journey. Vince always made sure that we had the best cocktails in our hands, and Judy shared her exceptional culinary talent with us.

We got to experience some of the local places on our journey, such as The Lovango Beach Club, and Lime Out (The floating taco bar) in St. John, Savant, and The Mutiny Distillery in St. Croix. All of Vince and Judy’s recommendations to these and other establishments did not let us down. Their catamaran is clean from top to bottom and very well equipped with anything that you would like to do during the week, including but not limited to snorkeling, scuba, paddleboards, a huge floating mat, and a kayak. It was such a pleasure to have Vince and Judy dine with us (and have cocktails) on board in the evening, as well as join us for dinners and lunch ashore. Kim and I miss Jake and cannot wait to see you guys at the end of the year.

  • Susan, Rene, Randy, Tina and Bev

We hate to leave. BOOK TWO WEEKS. One week isn’t enough! Diving, snorkeling, paddle boarding, hiking, eating, drinking, games, etc. So much to do, so little time. The trip of a lifetime. What else can you say about two of the hardest working, friendliest crew in the USVI? The best crew, food, drinks, sailing, toys and snorkels!

  • TS

Thank you Judy, Captain Vince and Jake (the Boat Dog!) for the love, care and time dedicated to us! Love you friends. We had a great time living on the boat and you couldn’t be more helpful to make this experience totally worthwhile. The places we visited, the food you provided, the sunsets, cocktails, fun games on board, the morning floats, etc. We definitely want to come back again!

  • HD

We just got back from a New Year’s Eve week private catamaran charter on Chaos Interrupted. The owner operators Judy and Vince exceeded all expectations. They were knowledgeable, adaptable and worked so hard to make our trip perfect. The boat was so nice , new, spacious, clean and very comfortable. The food Judy prepared was a 12 out of 10, always delicious and gourmet. They worked with us to plan our trip ahead of time and it was awesome for the 6 of us in our family. They took us scuba diving and gave us personal attention. The beds in our cabins were very comfortable and the bathrooms well appointed. Jake the boat dog was so lovable and a plus to have with us. He was never in the way. We always felt safe with Captain Vince at the helm. We loved our daily paddle boarding and snorkel adventures. Vince led us on a memorable sunset hike at Ram Head. In summary, Judy and Vince went above and beyond to plan, adjust and execute our trip to make it perfect. We would definitely sail with them again and recommend to our friends and family.

  • YT

Great trip. Words cannot describe the fun we had! Vince and Judy were incredible hosts and made us feel so welcome. The food was delicious! They had everything you could want. Good times. Sad to leave!
